1.1. Vel pongal

Tamilian style.

  1. Dry roast
    • 1 Cup rice + 1 Cup moong dal — Dry roast on low flame until they give aroma.
  2. Cook
    • Step 1 + 4 cups water — Cook in instapot under rice setting.
  3. Temper
    • Ingredients: cashews, curry leaves, crushed black pepper, cumin, mustard seeds, split green chilli, grated ginger.
    • tempering ingredients — Fry in ghee
  4. Mix
    • Step 3+ tempering ingredients — Mix, add hot water as needed.
